Calgary Police Crack Down On DUIs With Check Stops

During New Year’s Day police charged a male driver, Kulwinder Singh Chohan, with impaired driving after his truck struck two vehicles in northeast Calgary.

Police released a statement explaining that the truck crossed the centre line of Metis Trail, side-swiping a vehicle carrying two occupants, then colliding with a second vehicle carrying two additional occupants.

Following the accident, the 20-year-old driver of the second vehicle was rushed to hospital in critical condition, as was his 18-year-old female passenger who suffered from lesser injuries.

The Calgary police have now charged Kulwinder Singh Chohan with impaired driving and impaired driving causing injury.
