Impaired Driving on New Years Day

Kulwinder Singh Chohan, from Calgary is now facing criminal charges of impaired driving after colliding with two cars while operating his truck in northeast Calgary on New Year’s Day.

Police reports indicate the truck crossed the centre line of Metis Trail and side-swiped a car with two occupants before colliding with a second car.

The charges against Chohan will consider the implications of drunk driving causing bodily harm. The 20-year-old driver of the second vehicle is in hospital in critical condition and his 18-year-old female passenger was also injured, although not seriously. Chohan’s truck was stopped when it was hit by an SUV carrying four people.
